Season 12- Game 4
Season 12- Game 4. Sheep win 5-0 against Cory's Purple Cobras. Cory played a great game in net, and probably saw upwards of 40 shots. Matt P was in goal for the sheep and completed his tax return and applied for bailout funds. Sheep goals by Matt M (assist Pete D), Kirk (assist Matt M), Joey L (assists Pete L, Ron), Adam (Assist Joe G) and Neal (unassisted sweet wrap-around goal to the far post). No Sheep penalties.

Season 12 - Game 1. Sheep lose, 2-0. Gwyn played a good game in net after her long break, and the sheep had some good breaks and even some half ice offense. But we just couldn't get one in the net. One sheep penalty -- Ken, for Roughing.

Season 11 - Game 11
Game 11 vs Mott Heartbreakers. It was a heartbreaking 3-2 loss for the Sheep. Matt scored at the beginning of the 3rd (unassisted) with another one a minute later by Kirk (also unassisted, although Joe blocked out the goalie). With 1:30 to go, it appeared Matt scored the tying goal (which would have been twice the sheep were down to mott by 3 in the 3rd to come back and tie), but, alas, the Ref was the only person in the whole rink (including the opponents) who thought his shot didn't go in. Only one Sheep penalty - Kirk for Interference.

Game 10 vs. Yak's Farm Team. Final score, Yaks 0, Sheep 3. Cory had another outstanding game in net, keeping us in the game when the Yaks really started playing hard in our zone in the 2nd period. Sheep goals by Yak #22 (own goal -- really nice one, too. Joe should get credit for this goal as the last sheep to touch the puck, but Jennie is #22 on the sheep, so we'll give it to her to keep her streak alive - even though she wasn't on the ice when this goal went in), Matt M (assist Ken), and Anne Marie (assists Kirk and Ron). No Sheep penalties (although Ken should get one for butt-checking).

Pond Hockey - The Movie
Hello Everyone,
Below and attached are information on a new documentary that is being released called “Pond Hockey”. In coordination with USA Hockey, we are helping to promote this new film. Apparently the only showing of this movie in the entire state will be at the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00 PM. After that you’ll have to try to track it down on DVD, when it is eventually released in that format. There will be Red Wing alums in attendance for this event.
The Ann Arbor Ice Cube has advanced tickets for sale in the front office for $10. Tickets can be purchased daily between 8 AM and 10 PM while supplies last. The Cube does not receive any proceeds from the ticket sales. We are only helping to promote a movie that you, the hockey player and enthusiast, would enjoy and to give you first shot at tickets.

Season 11 - Game 7
Dateline - Oct 24, 2008. The Sheep take game Game 7 and have a commanding lead in the Never Ever Hockey Leage for the first time in their long and storied franchise history. At 5-0-2, the Sheep sit atop the standings in both points and points scored.
Game 7 against Green featured a goal by Adam, with assists from Matt M and Ron. The second, and game-winning, goal in the first period was by Matt M with assists to Megan and Pete D. There were no Sheep penalties in the game, although several members tried.

Stats from Game 2, played on National Talk Like a Pirate Day, me mateys. We swabbed the deck with the Green Team, winning 4-0. (hmm.. the number 4... how appropriate!)
Sheep goals be scored by Pete L (assist Neal, Joe), Adam (assist Anne Marie, Ken), Matt M (assist Kirk, Ken), and Colin (assist Kirk). Of special note was Pete L's first goal of his whole entire life ,and Colin's sprawling, sheep-style goal to finish off the game.

Tony offered up a friend of his, so I'll tap him on Monday if an old flocker doesn't sign up (e.g., Lisa or Joey).

Martin Spoor Children's Fund Contribution

Sheep fall to 2-2
The Mighty Flock dropped their second game, pulling us to even on the season. It was a well fought game against a stifling Yellow defense. Final score was 3-0. Thanks to Matt P for filling in between the pipes. I don't have the score sheet, but I recall penalties to Joe (serving for a team call), Chet, and one more (but I don't think it was Ken!).
Next week's game is at 10:45pm.

Final for game 2 was 5-0. The only Sheep stat was Dustin's penalty for hooking. Thanks once again to Matt Erickson for filling in between the pipes.
I thought our practice on Sunday night was very good. I especially liked the slow-mo face-offs. I plan to use the new defensive face-off positioning in all future games. Remind me to go over it in the locker room for the folks who missed practice.
Game 3 is at 11:15pm, on Jennie's birthday! AJ is out for this game, and I vaguely recall that someone else told me they might not be there... hopefully they will send me an email this week.

Game 1 was an exciting 1-goal loss to White. Dan Hall from Red did a great job between the pipes for us. Final was 4-3, with Vitaley netting two goals (both assists from Chuck), and Chuck putting in the final one with 24 seconds left, unassisted. Dustin had the lone Sheep penalty.
